UK Trip - Day 1 Part 2
A view up the hill towards the castle on our walk towards the Edinburgh Military Tattoo

After wandering around Leith we took the bus to a pizza restaurant for dinner (no photos sorry, just ate it too quickly!). We then went up the hill towards the castle. It was a good opportunity to get our bearings before hitting up several venues at Fringe tomorrow.

The queue for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. It’s a mass of people in front of Tolbooth Kirk, a gothic-style church.

We walked up, queued, and looked at the sky. It wasn’t supposed to rain this evening but it sure looked like it would. A quick visit to the merch stand for a poncho and rain jacket and we were ready for the show.

Dad in the seats for the Tattoo. He’s in front of Edinburgh Castle gates.

The show was great! Highlights include the marching pipes and the colourful Indian piper and dancers.

The show finished with the Lone Piper, then truly exhausted we trudged down the hill and took a bus back to our accommodation.
